The name “Xalteva” (pronounced halteva) refers to the original indigenous people who were in Granada before the Spanish conquest. Built in 2007, by visionary/founder/president D. Jay Snyder, they are the first available condominiums in this beautiful colonial city of Granada.Nicaragua is a beautiful country. Granada, a beautiful and charming colonial city is the oldest and third largest city in Nicaragua. Located on the edge of Lake Nicaragua the world's twelfth largest lake and in the shadow of Mombacho Volcano, Granada is a romantic city of colorful colonial homes and churches with rich architecture and city layout. This relaxed and mellow walking-city has one of the most pleasant central plazas in Latin America surrounded by 16th-century colonial buildings, great restaurants, museums and other entertainment.There are great museums, horseback riding, and lookout points in and around Granada. Make sure to check out the Merced Church Tower, the Polvora Fortress, or the museum at the San Francisco Convent. We highly recommend a Granada Walking and Horse Carriage Tour.
