You are assured a warm welcome at The Rose and Crown hotel, which dates back to the 14th century. It is a beautiful oak timber framed building situated in the bustling, historic town of Colchester.
Originally a 14th Century coaching inn lovingly restored over the years, the hotel is an ideal base for both the discerning business and leisure traveller. You can sit back and enjoy a glass of wine in front of a roaring fire in our Tudor bar or go for a lazy walk in the panoramic Constable Country.
The Rose and Crown has 39 luxurious rooms, complete with all the facilities you would expect from a 3 star hotel and a little more.?? Imagine sleeping in a 14th century bedroom, with all the amenities of the modern day.??
Choose from the historic oak beamed rooms in the original house, the more contemporary executive rooms in the new wing or the romantic four poster suites.
We have two meeting rooms, the Prison Wine Bar is sub basement and can hold up to 14 for those days when you need to get out of the office or for training days. The Rose suite is very versatile and can hold up to 100 theater style or 160 for banqueting.
