Welcome to the Holiday Inn Express Norwich, where you are within reach of the beautiful Norfolk coastlines, Sandringham Estate, and the Norfolk Broads, which hosts an array of wildlife, fishing spots and traditional pubs. The vibrant city of Norwich, shortlisted to be the first UK City of Culture 2013, is only 2.5 miles away. Norwich's ancient city is bursting with medieval buildings, hidden courtyards and beautiful parks. Norwich is the first city in England, to be accepted into the League of Historical Cities. The 12th Century Cathedral is visible throughout the city and still hosts daily services, concerts and lectures. Nearby lies the dominating Norman Castle, one of the finest remaining buildings in Europe, once a prison it is now a museum but a guided tour still goes down to the pitch black Dungeons or up to the battlefield. Under the Castle is one of the city's two shopping malls, surrounded by many local boutiques, high street stores and a permanent market that adds Norwich to the top five shopping destinations in the UK. Ideally located 1.9 miles from Norwich Airport and 3.5 miles from Norwich Railway Station, the hotel offers a free shuttle for guests arriving and departing from either (subject to availability and must be pre booked). For guests arriving by car, there is free parking on site. On arrival you can expect a warm welcome by our friendly staff. All rooms have individual climate control, invigorating power showers for that morning boost, flat screen TV's and tea and coffee making facilities. In addition, the choice of soft and firm pillows and black out curtains will ensure you have a good night sleep ready for the day ahead. You have a choice of twin rooms (two single beds), double rooms (double bed with sofa bed) which are suitable for families with children, interconnecting rooms and accessible rooms. Our Express Start Hot Breakfast is free for all our guests. We offer a snack and dinner menu during the day and evenings in our Great Room. The Ground Floor with a 24hr reception, offers an open plan, spacious, modern lounge area, with licensed bar and is the ideal place to relax, unwind and meet your friends or family. Neighbouring the hotel is a Virgin Active Health and Racquets Club. With its extensive two floor gym, indoor and outdoor pool, outdoor hot tub, steam room, sauna, and tennis courts, there is plenty to keep you busy. The Royal Norwich Golf club adjacent to the hotel is also within walking distance.
