Local Attractions
You can find lots to do during your time in Hays! People come from all over to visit Sternberg Museum and their famous Fish-Within-a-Fish fossil. Kids will also enjoy our wild buffalo herd at Frontier Park (free to visit) where they just introduced a rare white buffalo. Craft beer fans will enjoy Defiance Brewing Company, with a variety of beers such as their “Fuzzy Knuckles” Imperial Stout, or “Willy Nilly” which is a Golden Ale. History buffs will appreciate Old Fort Hays which preserves the army base our town was built on. Speaking of Wild West times, take a stroll through our downtown district to get a feel for where “Wild Bill” Hickok, “Buffalo Bill”, and General George Armstrong Custer made their mark on history. Not just a place of history, you can find lots of great boutiques and dining in the area, and a Farmers Market on Saturdays in the summer. We use this hotel as a waypoint when doing longer driving trips. We have two dogs. The hotel accommodates us and the dogs on the first floor, usually close to back door. There is good hiking around the hotel and very clean. The rooms are clean and have all the basic amenities (coffee maker, refrigerator, toiletries). Free breakfast is available and includes any foods you might like (cereal, fruit, muffins, eggs, waffles). Rates are reasonable. We will be back soon.

These average motels are ridiculously expensive for what you get and I want to know where the extra$25 per fee goes. My dog is cleaner and better behaved than most children and I clean up after him. To be fair, charge a deposit and refund if left without damage.

The recently remodeled Comfort Inn & Suites North of Hays, KS caters to both vacationing tourists and corporate travelers alike. Rooms come with our free deluxe breakfast, and complimentary Wi-Fi. In our lobby you will find 24/7 hot coffee, complimentary newspapers, and a business center offering free copy/fax services. All guest rooms are 100% non-smoking and accessible via indoor corridors. Our indoor heated pool and hot tub is open daily from 9 AM to 10 PM. We also offer a fitness room which is open from 6 AM - 10 PM. Dogs are welcome with a $15.00 nonrefundable fee. Our hotel is conveniently located right off I-70, and dining is within walking distance. Rooms come equipped with 32" HDTVs offering cable and HBO programming, irons/ironing boards, hairdryers, coffee pots, nightstand charging stations, alarm clocks/radios, phones offering free local calls, windows that open, and private bathrooms with a tub/shower combo (roll-in showers available for wheel-chairs in our handicap rooms).
