I was surprised to see the value of the room purchased versus the amount paid via the Getting Married platform, it was over £100 in commission payments. Despite paying twice what a number of other attendees to the same event paid, we were initially happy enough with this as it was a more premium room which turned out to be in the main building rather than the separate lodges. The room was on the ground floor and had sliding doors and a small patio overlooking the first hole, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the room was also adjoining a small function suite with its own patio/smoking area where there was an event running the first night of our stay. This continued into the early hours of the morning with guests using the outside space continuously. This could obviously be heard loudly through the glass doors and the wall itself. Overall, the room was 'ok' it was dated and definitely wasn't five star in its appearance. We had good service and a great experience at the wedding event we attended but the accommodation was over priced, the platform fees were clearly very high and the room we ended up in left us feeling a little disappointed.
