The Pickwick Hotel is a fantastic option for groups travelling on a budget. This hotel's main selling point is its location - It has a great spot on an interesting street, only a few blocks away from Union Square and the Moscone Center. Very few hotels with this good a location will offer such low prices. The accommodations are simple and sweet, with charming decor and marble bathrooms. The rooms are a bit small, but do not feel cramped. Everything is clean and fresh, with a romantic twist. I also enjoyed the bar/restaurant that is adjacent to the hotel lobby, which is open three meals a day. There is nothing exceptional about their lobby or meeting spaces, although they do have a large room and a conference room that can be used for a gathering of about 40. In conclusion, this hotel is a good value for the price - simple, nothing outdated, with charming decor and a really excellent location, especially for tourists. I would recommend it.

This is my favorite hotel in San Francisco! The gentleman in the front of the house has been there for 25 years and it is such a delight to see him every time I stay there. The elevators were being worked on, so they were slow but it encouraged us to use the stairs. The parking garage attendant was an angel, as my son had thrown up the entire 6 hour drive, including in the parking garage. But he was so kind, made my son feel understood and not embarrassed. He gave him a candy and helped us carry our luggage up to the lobby. Our room was hot, but we slept with the windows open and enjoyed the loud sounds of the awesome city! It's a historic hotel, full of character, different cultures and kind staff! I will always stay here when I can!
