Property description
Moi!
How we, in Groningen, say welcome!
Apollo Hotel Groningen is located in La Liberté, a prominent building on Groningen's skyline. The building was designed by the non-conformist French architect Dominique Perrault, best known for his design of the new National French library building. It was with this design that Perrault won the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture. Following this success, Dominque Perrault was in demand and he now works throughout the world and has delivered projects in Japan, Berlin, Madrid and Seoul. This makes La Liberté in 'our' Groningen, or “os GRUNN” as we say in Groningen, even more remarkable.
The architect's non-conformity is reflected in the building and, in turn, this non-conformity is evident throughout the hotel. Apollo Hotel Groningen is not merely a hotel, it is a contemporary and unique partnership between an adventurous hotel chain, the city of Groningen and the residents of the residential complex situated above the hotel.
