An excellent choice for a wonderful group holiday for up to 12 people based on self catering in the department Corrèze in the southern part of the Limousin region. The Château du Bois Noir is located on the outskirts of the village Perpezac-le-Blanc, only 20 km west of the town of Brive-la-Gaillarde, bordering the Dordogne.Its surroundings are hilly and woody. On arrival you can listen to and feel the tranquility of the countryside. The unique location, against a hill with breathtaking views, a park with centuries-old trees, the most beautiful starry sky and absolute silence, make the Château du Bois Noir, without a doubt, an ideal starting point for anyone who wants to leave behind the hectic life.This wonderful renaissance style Château dating back to 1895 has been meticulously restored preserving its historical and original character.The Château was completely renovated to an extremely high standard during 2008 and now offers around 560m2 of luxurious living space. High detailed ceilings, large restored windows with internal shutters and beautiful original features adorn this Château. Each room has a unique fireplace either in stone or wood with the most wonderful individuality. Each room is decorated in a special way and in different classic French styles.Entering the grounds through a gated entrance you feel the grandeur of the property whilst driving along the 100m tree-lined driveway to a nice parking area to the front . You are then immediately faced with the splendor of the very attractive Château.A grand entrance takes you into a large entrance hall (28m2) with lovely original tiled floor. To the left of the entrance hall you arrive in a Billiard Room annex library of 36m2 with parquet floor, large fireplace and access to the terrace located on the south. Leading either from the entrance hall or the billiard room you will find a beautiful large Living Room of 55m2 with parquet floor, stunning original walnut wood fireplace, terrace (on the south) access and wonderful views over the correzienne countryside. There is a small hallway with a bar leading from the living room to the dining room that has access out through french doors to a central balcony, perfect for having breakfast or lunch al-fresco. Entering the rather grand Dining Room, suitable for 12-14 people, either via the rear hallway or via the front entrance hall, you are immediately stunned by the beauty of this room. This 34m2 room has a very unusual original 'fleur de lys' tiled floor, a magnificent stone fireplace and highly detailed wooden lower wall paneling. Again the views from this room are breath-taking. On this floor there is also a 38m2 high quality character kitchen with large stone fireplace, dining area and heavy wooden door to a garden dining area. The kitchen is well equipped with 7 burner stove, double electric oven, steam oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer and cold cupboard. A 6.5m2 separate larder is conveniently placed next to the kitchen with stairs down to one of the cellars, equipped with washing machine, dryer and extra fridge and freezerA very grand partially red-carpeted wooden staircase takes you to the first floor where a spacious hallway serves 4 large and beautifully decorated elegant double bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom with bath, separate shower, double hand basin and toilet or shower room with shower, hand basin and toilet; renovated to a very high specification. Three of these bedrooms have beautiful fireplaces and all enjoy their individual grandeur with large windows, internal shutters and quality fixtures and fittings. One of the bedrooms has a stunning seating area in the adjoining tower that boasts magnificent views over the château grounds and surrounding countryside. Continuing up onto the second floor, again a spacious hallway leads to one double bedroom and two single bedrooms, large living space and bathroom with shower, bath, toilet and double hand basin. The grounds of this Château are equally as stunning. There are various well positioned terraces, 3 wells and magnificent well-kept parkland of 7 acres with mature trees and wonderful views offering peace, privacy and tranquillity. Within the grounds, close to the Château is a very pretty separate salt water swimming pool of 5 x 10 meters with 120 m2 terrace completely south facing with breath-taking views.
