Fort Recovery Beachfront Villa & Suites Hotel is located on Tortola, The British Virgin Islands. Standing amongst these 30 luxurious villas is a 17th Century historic landmark called Fort Recovery. The original name of the Fort is a symbol of romance and history and is perhaps the oldest standing in tact Fort in the Caribbean.Fort Recovery makes a point to avoid obvious commercialisms, and their amenities of good service, hospitality and attention given to their guests relieves their busy lifestyle stresses. The accommodations are set right along the Caribbean coastline and are the most unique in design, avoiding the typical “hotel look”, by using as much home type surroundings as possible. Each villa suite has bookcases, library, art pieces, oil and water paintings adorning the walls, and fully tiled walls and floors in the bathrooms, with state of the art carpentry.The entire environment of Fort Recovery's Villa Complex is magnificent. The views from practically every villa are phenomenal. The sunsets are breathtaking and the blue Caribbean Sea is very inviting. The fresh water pool is a delightful alternative.The wonderful restaurant on the premises, serving breakfast and dinner for their guests only, caters to the guests' culinary desires as much as possible. The mini-exercise room has all the essential equipment. The massage room, pedicure, manicure and hair salon has a relaxing ambiance, creating a respite for the guests and is very popular. Yoga and Pilates is another activity generally done at sunset on the edge of the large beachfront dock with the remarkable water sounds below. They also have a chartering captain & Sun Seeker 40 foot motor yacht on premises for sight-seeing & snorkeling.The large 4-8 bedroom Villa is located on the beach, beautifully appointed, consisting of a central Art Gallery Hallway, very large living room/library/dining room/TV room, state of the art kitchen with stainless steel equipment, eight air-conditioned bedrooms, nine bathrooms and a humongous wooden porch on the beach. In the back of the house by the pool, there is a garden room with table & chairs. People, who frequently visit Tortola, comment that it is the nicest beachfront home that Tortola has to offer.The three bedroom villas are very popular for small families, yacht charter guests for pre and post sailing adventures and friends. The spacious accommodations consist of three bedrooms and bathrooms, very large living room/dining room/kitchen and private outdoor balcony or porch on the beach.The two bedrooms villas are lovely seaside accommodations with superb views consisting of large living room, fully equipped kitchens, two air-conditioned bedrooms, two bathrooms, and private outdoor patios or balconies.The One bedroom deluxe villas are luxury seaside suites consisting of semi-covered garden patios or balconies, fully equipped kitchens and living room (can be used as extra bedroom), creates an appealing relaxed environment. The adjoining air-conditioned bedroom and bathroom have a separate entrance. The living room has glass-screened doors, extending onto its own private sun patio or balcony with lounge chairs.The one bedroom superior villas are spectacular state of the art spacious villa suites with high ceilings, highly designed interiors, providing extraordinary views of the Caribbean. Each has a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, blender, and mini-refrigerator, living room, and separate air-conditioned bedrooms and baths. The location is so close to the sea, it is said, “If you were to walk in your sleep you would wind up in the water.”These villas are the creation of Mrs. Anita MacShane Cottoy, a former Broadway theatre producer, who believes the “Carnival never stops”, and found the adjustment from the New York stage to planning the execution of a finished hotel is not much different. The summer rates start at $245 a night for two to $1296 a night for an eight bedroom Villa. Coffee and daily housekeeping are included. Fort Recovery was chosen by Discovery's Travel Channel's “Hidden Caribbean” as the most desirable place on Tortola, in particular for its privacy and hotel amenities.
