The Corpus Christi center point is around the area of Us Coast Guard Marine Safety and the area of Us Defense Investigative Svc.
I personally enjoy Corpus Christi. Corpus is great little place to visit especially in November, the weather is cooler and you have a nice breeze throughout the day. Corpus has quite a few things to do there, you can visit the USS Lexington Air Carrier Museum which is really amazing to tour. You can also visit the Texas State Aquarium which is right off the bay, while there you can watch the dolphin show or pet the rays and sand shark in the petting areas. They have quite a variety of mammals and sea life you can look at while visiting. There is also an Art Museum you can visit while there (which I will have to tour next time). Corpus isn't too far away from everything, if you're in Portland or Aransas Pass, Texas at the most its about a 20-25 minute drive which isn't too bad especially in Texas which the speed is about 70-80 MPH. Corpus also has plenty of boutique, antique shops and mall strips scattered about their town and you never know what little treasures you might find.
South Texas is temperate year-round, with temperatures in the mid 40s and 50s throughout the winter. However, if you plan to jump in the water, it's best to visit Corpus Christi from May through September for a more pleasant (and less chilly) swimming experience. Though the weather is also lovely in the fall, be wary of hurricane season, which can affect the Gulf Coast. With an eye on fall weather, you might consider snagging a last-minute Corpus Christi hotel deal for a getaway weekend of perfect weather and lighter crowds.
One delightful local event has become something of a destination, drawing in music fans from all over the region. Every May, Corpus Christi hosts its annual Fiesta de la Flor in honor of former Corpus Christi resident and singing sensation, the late Selena Quintanilla Perez. The two-day festival celebrates the life of this radiant musician with fun-filled days of music and activities. You can also visit the Selena Museum to experience a tour of her local recording studio and memorabilia.
The Corpus Christi Rodeo draws visitors in mid-April, causing rates to surge, but the energetic and exciting event is worth the trip. Surfers flock to the beaches of Corpus Christi for the area's energetic waves, frequenting the Bob Hall pier in particular. Since the area maintains a fairly consistent weather pattern, you can surf year-round with wet suits in the colder months. Be sure to stop by Dockside Surf Shop, a local institution, to stock up on new gear and souvenirs.
Visit in the off-season, during winter, fall, and early spring, and you'll find plentiful deals on Corpus Christi hotels. Booking several months ahead of time will also save you on hotel accommodations during the peak summer months and during the main festivals, like Fiesta de le Flor and Memorial Day weekend. If you aren't visiting Corpus Christi for its water sports, like swimming, windsurfing, or surfing, you'll discover plenty of off-season rates to be had. Fishermen should take advantage of the fine weather available in spring and autumn to indulge in a deep-sea fishing expedition or fishing from the area's popular sites, like Bob Hall Pier.
Corpus Christi hotels also love to welcome veterans and military members, who will find generous discounts at Best Western Corpus Christi, a beautiful and well-situated hotel near the beach. AAA members can choose from several discounted rates for motels, including the Super 8 Corpus Christi near the marina or the Knights Inn Corpus Christi near the beach.
Corpus Christi offers a huge range of hotel options, and the prices don't fluctuate wildly based on location. You'll find value-packed options in all parts of the city. One such example is the Holiday Inn Corpus Christi Marina, which boasts beautiful views of the marina and pool, a fantastic central location, and convenience factors like an on-site restaurant. There's also a bar on the 20th floor that offers a beautiful view.
The Embassy Hotel and Suites on South Padre Island Drive offers an attractive alternative with its huge list of amenities, which includes fitness facilities, free breakfast, and a free cocktail reception in the early evening for adults. Kids will love the on-site arcade and indoor pool as well. The Embassy Suites is situated near the Palmera Mall and also near the Hans A. Suter Wildlife Area, a great place to stay if you plan to do any birdwatching.
Another stand-out value hotel is the Best Western Corpus Christi, which also offers a free hot/cold breakfast buffet. The main attractions here are the beautiful harbor views from the room's private balconies, overlooking the Mirador de la Flor – the famous Selena seawall statue. Wi-Fi access at the Best Western is complimentary, and you simply must take a dip in the outdoor pool.
Hampton Inn & Suites Corpus Christi repeatedly gets high marks and returning customers for the exemplary customer service that welcomes guests when they arrive. The bright and clean facility offers a welcome and quiet respite after a busy day touring the beaches and museums of Corpus Christi. The Hampton Inn is not far from two of the area's destination shopping malls, as well. Complimentary is the word here, from the Wi-Fi to the breakfast and access to the business center. Check in to the Hampton Inn for an all-around convenient, comfortable, and well-priced hotel stay in the area.
Once described as “the birdiest city in America” by the Audubon Society, Corpus Christi's unique geographic location and temperate weather attracts more than 210 species of birds to the region. Every year, birding enthusiasts flock to Corpus Christi to spot the birds in their natural habitat. If you are new to birdwatching, look into guided charter tours through the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, which are led by experts who will point out key species in their natural habitat. Solitary, more experienced birdwatchers can head to Hazel Bazemore County Park for a day of birding. For a more heart-racing experience, saddle up at South Padre Island and ride horses through the surf or simply stroll through the sand. Any level rider is welcome.
It's hard to know how to fit in all the fun activities that Corpus Christi has to offer. From museums to nature walks to shopping trips, Corpus Christi, the Sparkling City on the Sand, invites you to stop and stay for a while.

Below are reviews of the city of Corpus Christi, TX from an actual visitor's perspective.
I really enjoy Corpus Christi, it is a little quieter than other parts of the coast. It's nice to travel and enjoy the calmer part of the coastline.
The people were friendly especially at Wal-Mart.
The easy access to the beach
Aquabites and the Surfing Crab were two fun, delicious restaurants. Razoo's is a chain and certainly lived up to the brand's standards.

The beauty of Corpus is the beach, and now the bridge.
Very happy with new restaurants in the area.
We loved the beach, driving Shoreline Road. We found some really good restaurants including Blackbeard's, Price's Chef, Miss K's Deli, and Silverado Smokehouse. We learned a great deal, touring the Lexington and the museum of history and science.

The city of Corpus Christi was great!
Corpus Christi has some of the best beaches in Texas and some of the most delicious Mexican food around. Travel options are flexible—you can stay at a budget-friendly hotel or choose a more luxurious place, depending on your needs. It's one of the better destinations I've been to, especially for families. There were lots of other traveling families, which worked well for me since I have kids. I'd definitely recommend Corpus Christi as a travel destination!
I liked the Selena Statue.
Beach side and side attractions awesome!
Wonderful Southern hospitality, streets are easy to navigate, locals are patient with tourists who take a wrong turn. A family member moved to Corpus nearly three years ago and feels safe there and so did we. We also witnessed the emergency medical care providers rapid response to an emergency. Very comforting to people of a certain age. We shall be returning to Corpus many times.

We attended Buc Days so we had fun joining in on the fun. We found a new restaurant for us, El Camino and the food was very good and we were lucky enough to have a Mariachi band serenade us while eating. That was very nice.
