I personally enjoy Corpus Christi. Corpus is great little place to visit especially in November, the weather is cooler and you have a nice breeze throughout the day. Corpus has quite a few things to do there, you can visit the USS Lexington Air Carrier Museum which is really amazing to tour. You can also visit the Texas State Aquarium which is right off the bay, while there you can watch the dolphin show or pet the rays and sand shark in the petting areas. They have quite a variety of mammals and sea life you can look at while visiting. There is also an Art Museum you can visit while there (which I will have to tour next time). Corpus isn't too far away from everything, if you're in Portland or Aransas Pass, Texas at the most its about a 20-25 minute drive which isn't too bad especially in Texas which the speed is about 70-80 MPH. Corpus also has plenty of boutique, antique shops and mall strips scattered about their town and you never know what little treasures you might find.
South Texas is temperate year-round, with temperatures in the mid 40s and 50s throughout the winter. However, if you plan to jump in the water, it's best to visit Corpus Christi from May through September for a more pleasant (and less chilly) swimming experience. Though the weather is also lovely in the fall, be wary of hurricane season, which can affect the Gulf Coast. With an eye on fall weather, you might consider snagging a last-minute Corpus Christi hotel deal for a getaway weekend of perfect weather and lighter crowds.

Liked the price of the hotel, Holiday in Express and Suits, and how close it was to the beach. The stores are close by as well as restaurants. There are many places to take pictures and family friendly places. Some of the places, aquarium, only charge you 3 to 5 dollars to get in which is not bad.

Corpus Christi is always a great place to come because of the seafood restaurants all the water the local attractions which includes the Lexington museum ship which is amazing in itself. there are all kinds of shops and Beach stores gift stores gift shops wonderful fun things to do, museums and just wonderful fishing all kinds of piers and just so much more. the birdlife the shorebirds everything is just a wonderful wonderful way to live out here or to visit.
We used to live near by, Portland, for 14 yrs. in the 70-80's and loved to visit Corpus Christi. We've always loved the Oyster Bar & restaurant.

Beautiful city on the Harbor. Lots of sites and activities for all ages. Good alternative to vacationing on the Gulf Coast and definitely close enough for day trips to many gulf beaches.
