The Durango center point is approximately the area of Downtown Durango and the area of Durango Arts Center.
Durango is know for its Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railraod. Such an exciting trip through the San Juan Mountains, climbing to the top of the world in Silverton. A very memorable trip. Mesa Verde National Park is also very close and another tourist attraction for Durango. The small main street shops are wonderful to stroll by. A really great place to visit.

Durango's skies were beautiful, the restaurants varied and very good. Los Amigos del Sur was every bit the hidden gem reported, Chimayo was excellent, and the wood fired pizza (with GF cauliflower crust) at Fired Up, delicious. We have great fun looking at (and buying) offerings at Tippycanoe and Parts Unknown.
We love the restaurants, the shops, the relaxed vibe, the chance to be in Durango early in the summer. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and accommodating- We'll want to be there Memorial Day next year.
Awesome, clean, quiet and awesome breakfast, the skiing in Purgatory was fantastic! Only 20 min. away from hotel. The free Train Museum was worth a visit and dinner at the Diamond Belle with live music made a fun stay.

City of Durango is easy to navigate! Historic area allowed for easy walking visits! And access to the surrounding scenic highways and mountain cities was wonderful, with Durango as our "home base". Quick and Easy to visit Silverton, Telluride, and Dolores, CO, too!

Train of course, JBo's pizza, Texas Bar-B-Que. Everyone in the City waves to the train riders; that was great for the small boys (30) we had on the train.
