The Meliá Palácio da Lousã, the country's first Boutique Hotel, is an emblazoned building of the XVIII century. Formerly Palace of Viscondessa do Espinhal, it is classified as Historical Heritage. Refurbished into a 4 star hotel, with 46 rooms in total (23 in the palace and 23 in the new wing), it blends the charm of an historical setting with state of the art technology, thus providing the highest level of comfort to all our guests. A warm welcoming and the attention to detail are the greatest assets that our staff provides. Relax and enjoy an exquisite treatment in a refined and stylish setting. The restaurant A Viscondessa is, by itself, a unique opportunity to savor the jewels this region has to offer. Located in Lousã's historical center, renowned entry point of the Schist Villages Route, the Hotel offers a warm atmosphere with stunning views of the Lousã Mountains. The Hotel surroundings invite you to enjoy nature. You can observe wild game (deers and wild boars) in their natural habitat and visit a set of secular buildings, such as the medieval Arouce Castle, the wells of the Real Neveiro, where ice was stored in the winter to be later on sent to the King's cellar in Lisbon, and the Chapel of our Lady of Sorrows, up on the mountain. The Lousã Mountains are mandatory when it comes to adventure. Mountain biking and all terrain vehicle fans are always thrilled to find here new paths that will push their skill to the limit. Nostalgically, the Rally of Portugal's fans remember the Lousã's mountains as one the best stages of the competition. Last but not the least, don't miss out the Aldeias do Xisto (Schist Villages) up on the mountains and the beautifully build XVII century manors spread across the Lousã village. Superior Palace Located in the noble floors of the Palace, overlooking the Lousã Mountains, the village and the Palace's gardens and terraces, all rooms have king-size bed, some with a canopy and some of the rooms have beautifully chiseled ceilings. The decoration is classically inspired, yet modern, highlighting its refinement, functionality and comfort. All rooms provide a study area with a desk and chair and spacious closets, refined with top quality wood. Of the attentive decoration, the frames, table and floor lamps, chairs and chaise-long stand out harmoniously with the Palace atmosphere. Standard Palace Located in the Palace, the rooms are available with a king-size bed or two single beds and are decorated in an inspiring classic, refined yet also functional way. All rooms have wooden floor and ceiling and also, a study area with a chair and desk. The decoration is completed with frames, table and floor lamps and flower bouquets, all in perfect harmony with the Palace's atmosphere. Standard New Wing Located in a new building, the New Wing, attached to the Palace and with direct connection with its classic halls. In this building all rooms have views to the mountain, to the Palace and to the gardens and pool, underlining the sense of perfect harmony with the Palace architectonic plan. Modernly and hiply decorated with colors, both bold and harmonious with the remaining Hotel decoration. The rooms are available with a king-size bed or two single beds. There are also communicating rooms specially for families.
