Stone Mountain is the largest granite monolith in the world, formed 300 million years ago and rising nearly 1,000 feet above the lakes and forests that surround its base. The park is 3,200 acres of magnificent beauty, with 14 attractions to entertain and amuse the young-at-heart. Play a round of golf (36 holes) or tennis (28 courts) at the 1996 Olympic® Venue, and sit back and be amazed at the laser show shown on a two million square foot surface. Stone Mountain Village is steeped in history and offers arts and crafts, museums, shopping and some of the most unique restaurants in the area. Visit historical museums, the Confederate Cemetery and the Confederate Memorial Carving, the largest high-relief carving in the world. See the largest buffalo (bison) herd east of the Mississippi at the Yellow River Game Ranch and wander along the shaded paths as deer, peacocks, ducks, squirrels and chipmunks take food from your hand. See the native animals of Georgia, cougars, bobcats, bears, foxes, raccoons, opossums, eagles, hawks and a myriad of others, all for your enjoyment.
