I understand there was a change in management and there was a ton of transition problems, but the TV didn't work the door wouldn't open and the condition of the room was hurried during cleaning. The people working there were kind and helpful but other than that this holiday inn had a ton of problems.

This hotel only had one pool lounge chair. Our body shampoo was empty and I asked the housekeeper if she could refill it and she said she didn't have it on her cart. I asked for a bar of soap instead. The toliet wasn't working correctly. The room was clean.

My wife and I always try to stay in a Holiday Inn Express when we travel. We have found them to be excellent facilities with reasonable room rates. The Holiday Inn, Moab Utah did not live up to our expectations for the following reasons. When I booked the room many weeks ago, I specifically told the front desk employee I was a light sleeper and I requested a room away from traffic noise, etc.. When we checked in I had to reiterate my request as it was not found on the file. The front desk agent, Katie, did her best to put us in a quiet room, especially since there was major road construction taking place right in front of the building. However, she failed to tell me that the construction was being done on a 24 hour basis. In addition, Katie did not mention until the very end of the registration process and while handing me the room keys, that there would be no housekeeping until the last day of our stay due to COVID 19. In addition, she never mentioned the Fitness Center would also be closed during our entire stay. Had she mentioned upfront and before the conclusion of the registration process any one of the three matters above, I believe we would have respectfully found another hotel/motel to stay in. The most annoying aspect of our stay was the road construction each night involved the use of some kind of heavy duty equipment which made the entire Holiday Inn vibrate so much it would have awakened the dead. It lasted a little over one hour at different times each night. We cut our stay short by one night just to get to a different hotel. I realize COVID 19 has made the management of many types of business rather difficult and challenging. But, the manner in which the staff at the Moab Holiday Inn Express was not straightforward about the three factors described above was very disconcerting. And, of course, there was no downward adjustment in the room rate when we checked out. It is doubtful my wife and I will stay in the Moab facility ever again. In fact, due to this experience we may never stay in another Holiday Inn Express again.
