Originally known as Cane Island, Katy is a city in Harris County, and is a part of the Houston metropolitan area. There has been notable growth in the city in the past few years which means you'll be able to find everything you need without having to head to the downtown core. However, if you do need to visit the center of Houston, the West Park Tollway makes it an easy commute. In Katy you're close to the George Bush Park where you can catch a rugby game.
