When to Visit Minneapolis, MN

Spring is a nice season in Minneapolis. While temperatures in the beginning of March are below freezing, by mid-May they climb into the 60s. Spring also marks the time when many festivals start coming back to the city. Since the summer tourist crowds haven't arrived yet, you can find very reasonable hotel prices between March and May. Just keep in mind that college graduations are in late May, and hotel prices go up as families converge on the city.

June through August is the best and most popular time to visit Minneapolis. During these months, the average highs are in the upper 70s and lower 80s. July is the warmest month with high humidity and occasional afternoon thunderstorms. Still, you'll be comfortable in short sleeves during the day and a light sweater or jacket at night. However, since these months are the most popular with tourists, expect to pay top prices for hotels. You should also plan on booking your hotel room two or three months in advance to guarantee you have one.

When autumn rolls around in Minneapolis, the leaves start falling, and so do the temperatures. While average highs in September are in the 70s, by November these temperatures drop into the low 40s. The short window of mild weather in early fall is a great time to visit the city though. Summer tourists are gone, so hotels lower prices and you won't have to fight crowds at some of the popular attractions.

Winters in Minneapolis are known for one thing: snow. In fact, the area sees an average of 40 inches of snowfall every year. However, the city is very good at clearing the streets and sidewalks, so it's not too difficult to get around during this time. If you're up for the challenge of visiting between December and February, you can enjoy some excellent deals on hotel rates.

A visit to Minneapolis Recapped

The water city of Minneapolis form Minnesota's Twin Cities together with St. Paul. The formidable duo can be considered fraternal brothers, sharing relatively low crime rates, and a culture characterized by social awareness and cleanliness. Minneapolis, however, still has a different vibe, as it is a better place to live at than to just visit. Minneapolis has been founded by the products of flour and saw mills, and enjoys a livelier architecture. There are numerous parks and lakes that underscore Minneapolis' appeal, which propelled the rest of the world to call it the Mill City, and the City of Lakes. At present, the city serves as the major hub for business between Seattle and Chicago. Its live theater scene comes second to its business industry, but the Children's Theatre Company, the Minnesota Dance Theatre, and the rest of its entertainment industry is among the nation's largest markets. The city is also home to the best-maintained, best-financed, and best-designed park system in the nation. The chain of lakes that surround it make Minneapolis a city perfect for activities such as ice skating, boating, picnics, fishing, or swimming.

'The essence of America “ that which really unites us “ is not ethnicity, or nationality or religion “ it is an idea “ and what an idea it is: that you can come from humble circumstances and do great things. These inspiring words were said by an American political scientist and diplomat Condoleezza Rice.

Land of The Free and Cohabitation

Minneapolis is the county seat of Hennepin County, United States. The name of the city was created by the first schoolteacher. She combined the affix of mni, which means water on the local Dakota Sioux language, and the polis from the Greek meaning the city. Even to this day thousands of tourists come to this city to see the local beauties of the town, born in the dual cultural environment of ancient local tribe of Dakota Sioux, French and English. If you are among those who are interested in the founding of some true American cities, then go along and read what we have prepared for you. In this short list we are going to give you some great advices on Minneapolis hotels too, as usually it might be quite hard to choose from a wide selection of them existing in the city. You will know more about some great budget and also luxurious hotels in Minneapolis.
