I will start by saying that my bridal suite was perfect we had absolutely no issues, it had plenty of space for hair and makeup to be done as well as for plenty of cute "getting ready" photos and was neat and clean. Having the extra living space/kitchenette as well as two different mirrored areas was excellent. We primarily chose this hotel because we needed one that did not require a two night minimum stay, as the majority of our guests were traveling under two hours and did not need a longer stay. The price was also very reasonable for the area and time of year. HOWEVER, so many of our guests ran into issues that it is hard to give a better than average rating. Even before the wedding, there were a lot of issues with guests either having trouble reserving rooms in the block or ending up with the wrong rates, being listed outside the block, etc. Check in time was supposed to be 3pm, but several guests were not able to get into their rooms at that time luckily this was primarily limited to those that were checking in a day early and not the day of the wedding. Many guests, including my own brother, were forced to switch from the king bed they had reserved to a room with two double beds. They were told that due to renovations, they didn't actually have the number of king beds that had been promised to our block. Several reservations were lost in the system and I had to actually look up their confirmation numbers for them to get the front desk to give them their rooms luckily I had printed my copy of the block list (not sure why they had not). There is clearly a big difference in comfort between a king bed and two doubles. Also, I found out after the weekend that several rooms had non working showers and at least four did not have shower curtains though at least that was somewhat quickly remedied by housekeeping. While I understand that renovations can cause some headaches for the hotel, I was disappointed that so many of them were affecting my guests. We were not made aware that renovations would be in progress during our wedding weekend and it was never mentioned that the specific room types promised might be overbooked. Overall, while my personal experience as the bride was pretty close to perfect, I have to take my guests' experiences into account. I would probably still recommend this hotel, but only once they are done with the renovations and with the caveat that you do have to be heavily involved in the process, constantly checking on the progress of the block and making sure that all of your guests are being given the correct rate and room type.

Property Description

Newly renovated property, A full hot personally cooked complimentary breakfast, an indoor heated pool, dry spa, along with an outdoor sand volleyball court, Free high speed internet access, 24 hour business center, 24 hour fitness center, a game room, and it is also attached to the La Luna Restaurant. The rooms have two double beds or one king bed, micorwave and refrigerators in each room, grand ball room, on site catering, located right off I-95 and just minutes away from downtown Mystic. Also close to the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos.
