I was born here so I love the place. The Natural History Museum is very worthwhile, Red Butte Gardens are lovely, Temple Square very interesting. Driving to the mountains is so easy and the downtown shopping area is cleverly designed.

SLC, absolutely surrounded by snow-capped peaks, is beautiful. Evening ambience around the city is lively; everyone is taking advantage of the recently arrived Spring. Trees and flowers are budding, streets are clean, air is crisp. People were courteous and offered ready smiles. It was a good time to be in SLC.

We enjoyed the ballet across the street at the Capitol Theater. We also enjoyed a great meal at Ruth's Chris Steak House a short distance away. Also, the Christmas street lighting was beautiful.

I am a genealogy enthusiast, so my main focus is the Family History Library which I visit several times a year. Beyond that though, Salt Lake City has a great deal to offer in terms of historic sites, the magnificent Mormon Temple and surrounding buildings, and the gorgeous scenery and ski country close to the city.
The Visitors Center is a delight whether you are a member of The Church of Jesus Christ or not, its absolutely beautiful and a must see. It will bring one peace and joy. So much goodness abides there. There is also a Genealogy Center and about 10 other buildings that have Historical documents if you are into genealogy.
