The best way to describe Parc 55 is that is a giant hotel that doesn't feel giant. Although it is the 4th largest hotel in the city, with over 1000 rooms, it still creates a peaceful sense of intimacy that can a only be the result of great design. The hotel is styled to be sleek and user friendly and is not the kind of big box hotel that you would get lost in. The sleeping rooms are more spacious than expected, in part because each has a large bay window (very San Francisco) instead of the usual flat pane that most hotels have. The building is also very tall with no guests rooms located on the lowest floors and no major buildings directly adjacent to it (despite its downtown location), so virtually every room has an excellent view. I had lunch in one of their two restaurants and it was excellent. I was also a fan of their meeting spaces, which have the same great design elements as the rest of the hotel. Their main ballroom, for instance, is surrounded on three sides by a spacious foyer with many doors that open along every wall. So, a group can decide to keep their event contained or virtually expand the entire rooms into a larger space for easy flow in and out. In conclusion, I would recommend this hotel to any group. They can handle the largest events perfectly and professionally, but also make the smallest groups feel comfortable and taken care of.
