The St. Regis Monarch Beach is one of couple of five star properties in exclusive Monarch Beach in Dana Point, overlooking the Beautiful California Coastline. This is a full service hotel property with 400 rooms, including 70 suites and 5 executive suites. All suites come with personal butler service, which serves as a liaison between the guests and the hotel property. All standard rooms have 1 king bed or 2 queens, a decorative table & 2 chairs, lounge chair, spacious bathrooms with both showers and tubs, spacious closets, full length mirrors, and all rooms have a balcony and some sort of view. There is plenty of meeting space available both indoors and outdoors, that can accommodate small groups of 10 to large events for 1,500 people. The most interesting of all the meeting space available is the Wine Cellar Room, which boast a fantastic and extremely expensive wine collection of over 1,000 bottles. The property also has several restaurants on property to meet the culinary taste of its guests, each with its own theme and vibe. On property there is also a full service Spa and workout facility. This is a U-shaped property, overlooking a lot of outdoor space, including the gorgeous outdoor pool, a 18-hole golf course (owned by not managed by the hotel) and in the far distance you can see the property's private Monarch Bay Club (Clubhouse is private but the beach is open to the public for free). This property is less than a quarter mile (Hotel's entrance/driveway) from Pacific Coast Highway and about a mile from the Beach (walk-able but not recommend). Hotel provides shuttle service to its Monarch Bay Club; guests need to speak with the concierge desk.
Downtown Dana Point is only 2 or 3 miles south from the hotel's location. San Clemente is only a 15-minute drive. The closet freeway is the 5 and the Ortega Highway 74 is only a few miles north of the property. The property is planning on some renovations starting in 2014 on some of the public space and some of the restaurants, will also be going undergoing some soft renovations to freshen up the hotel's appearance. The Customer Service throughout the property was for the most part fantastic including valet service. The exception was the customer service from the greeting staff in the lobby, the front reception desk, and the concierge desk needs improvement; it was not very friendly or hospitable upon entering or exiting the property. It is ideal for leisure groups with size-able budgets:
weddings,
business meetings, corporate incentive travel, conventions, associations, and groups requiring large functional meeting space.
