Property Description
Cerro de Hijar Hotel in the Natural Park Sierra de las Nieves is an hour away from Málaga and 45 minutes from Marbella in Tolox and has amazing views over the Guadalhorce valley.
The building has been restored to a cosy atmosphere taking special care in details in order to provide a quality accommodation in this unique place and is run under specific ecofriendly matters certified by the European Chapter of Sustainable Tourism
We have 18 rooms 4 of which are suites and one specially handicap adapted. They all have T.V., a minifridge, low consumtion heating, duvet bedding and a cealing fan, and they all have a balcony overlooking the mountains or the valley. All baths are ensuite and heated.
Rest in cosy common areas with a big lounge and fireplace; listen to the patio little fountain in the center of the hacienda, enjoy a solarium with the best views out in the garden with grass and planted with local species, not to forget the pool for the sunny days of Andalucian weather or treat yourself in our Private Spa & Sauna with views, there is parking for the hotel guests.
Enjoy our creative gastronomy based in the traditional Andalucian cuisine, recommended by the Michelin Guide and do not forget to order one of our selected wines.
Cerro de Hijar is the perfect place to enjoy nature in the Natural Park, to visit the endemic pinsapo tree and other biological treasures of this UNESCO declared “Biosphere Reserve”.
The hotel is a peacefull spot to relax and enjoy the gastronomy, a perfect hideaway in the most beautifull surroundings where you can practice your favorite sport or simply read a nice book in absolute silence and also start off a fantastic journey to Málaga province.

Green Policy
At Cerro de Hijar Hotel, we are awear of the fragility of our environment and of its needs to last long for the nexts generations, therefor we have developed our so called green policies, for example by using our left water purifying sistem and obtaining water for the plants in the gardens, using recicled papers in all our paperwork, planting original species from the area in our garden or placing timers in the lighting sistem, wich has also been designed so that light hits the ground and not the sky so you can still spot many stars.
Other messures have been taken in the restauration of the house using oil based wood protectors instead of barnish, natural pigment and water base paint, beams from cleaning of the woods, etc, and the same in terms of decoration and furnishing using natural fabrics both in table and bed clothes as in curtains and carpets.
In adittion drinks at the bar come in returnable containers and we separate 3 diferent types of wastes.
We encourage our clients to help with our green polocy, for example by used of towells more than one day, samart use of water and energy.
