Property Description
The Green Hotel Golf and Leisure Resort is situated in the peaceful town of Kinross, surrounded by 5000 acres of beautiful Perthshire countryside. Ideally located within central Scotland, Edinburgh and Perth are just a short 30 minute drive away with motorway access all the way to Kinross.
Dating back to the 18th Century, The Green was originally a traditional coaching inn, with the stage coaches which ran between nearby Queensferry and Perth changing horses right here at The Green. Nowadays of course, the resort is a modern affair with a variety of leisure activities on offer.
We offer a choice of two hotels within the resort: The Green and The Windlestrae. The Green is the more traditional historic property and just across the village green, The Windlestrae has a more contemporary feel. The two hotels offer a super range of facilities, including 93 bedrooms across both hotels, landscaped gardens, two fine parkland 18 hole golf courses, a leisure club (with 20 meter indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, jacuzzi, steam and sauna), Beauty Room Spa, a choice of 3 restaurants, 2 bars, a range of 10 private meeting rooms accommodating up to 200 guests, and onsite complimentary car parking.
There are two fabulous onsite parkland golf courses - The Bruce and The Montgomery. Both are 18 hole courses, mature and well-maintained with wide tree-lined fairways and well-kept greens, providing excellent examples of Scottish parkland golf with the added bonus of magnificent views across beautiful Loch Leven and of the West Lomond Hills. Resident staying at the resort receive fantastic discounted green fees.
The area offers a wealth of activities to enjoy in very beautiful countryside, including many fabulous walks, fishing, boating, canoeing and gliding - all available around the stunning Loch Leven nature reserve and Heritage Trail, just a short walk from the hotel. Also nearby guests can enjoy falconry, clay pigeon shooting, motor sports at Knockhill and horse riding. Onsite we also have a super curling rink and even our very own Backstage Gig venue, truly offering something for every guest to enjoy during their stay with us.
