Maritim Hotell AS.Maritim Hotel is located in Tønsberg, in the quiet, historic and magnificent surroundings. From the hotel is walking distance to the seaside and aesthetic Tønsberg Brygge, city shopping streets, shopping centers and the city's museums. There is also a museum with artifacts from greatness time whaling.The interest is also great for the museum's exhibition of Asian art.Located next to the ruins of St. Olav's Monastery and St. Olav's Church. Above the hotel is fantastic Tonsberg library.Maritim Hotel is a family run hotel, offering single, double and family rooms with space for 3-8 people and large mini suites with whirlpool.The rooms are newly renovated, have private bathrooms, flat screen TV, refrigerator, and free wireless internet. Some rooms also have a cozy seating area. The hotel has room service.We also drive to and from airports, railway station etc. by appointment. Public transport such as buses and trains are centrally located in Tonsberg.  We have free parking for our guests behind the hotel. History of the Hotel:Maritim is Tønsbergs oldest hotels. The original building was constructed in 1910 and named Tonsberg sailor home. As the name implies, the site was used by sailors. Tonsberg Seaman bought the property in 1923 for funds, and ran sailor home. In 1949 burned the building down. Today's building was completed listed in 1955, but gradually became less and less need for sailors' home, and in 1970 became the property converted into a hotel. Tonsberg Seaman stood still as the owner for many years, and rented out the property to several different people. Having rented the hotel for many years, bought the current owners the property in 2006. After this, the hotel has been refurbished and modernized in 2015.
