Room was small and lacked a comfortable chair and table. TV was small and the remote wouldn't change the channel unless you walked up to the TV and stood in front of it. The bathroom was unpleasant. The water came out of the sink so slow and the sink drain backed up. The water was so soft you couldn't get the soap rinsed off your body. The continental breakfast wasn't worth getting up and leaving your room for.

"Great Choice of Stay in Corning Area."

My destination was Lawrenceville, PA and when I searched for hotels/motels in surrounding area, I was uncertain whether "Painted Post" was the name the town or whether it was simply a "catch phrase" for the lodging to attract travelers. So I discovered it was the name of the community, a quiet community with places to eat, available gasoline stations, etc, but more importantly the Econo Lodge. I found the Lodge setting to be pleasant, quite and convenient to major highways. The Lodge itself was reasonably priced, a very clean room and nice pillows (important to me) and very pleasant employees. The continental breakfast was actually more than the usual continental breakfast fare, a quite nice surprise. If I had to point out a downside it was of all things the TV. To be more specific, the responsiveness of the TV to commands from the remote were the slowest I had ever encountered. That downside, however, is likely more a function of the cable provider's system performance and has little to do with Econo Lodge per se. If I were returning in that area, I would definitely stay there again.

Welcome to the Econo Lodge, a Painted Post hotel near the Corning Museum of Glass The Econo Lodge® hotel is conveniently located off Interstate 86, just minutes from Corning, the home of Corning, Inc., the Corning Museum of Glass, Watkins Glen International racetrack, host of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, and Watkins Glen State Park. Corning Community College, Elmira College and the Elmira Corning Regional Airport are also nearby. Enjoy beautiful views, detailed exhibits, popular computer simulations and soaring from Harris Hill, the birthplace of American soaring. Local corporations, like the Dresser-Rand Company, are just minutes away. The best of American Western and Native American art are preserved at the Rockwell Museum of Western Art, located less than three miles from this Painted Post, NY hotel.
