Local Attractions
We are ideally located on Puerto Rico's north coast, in San Juan. We are 2 minutes walk to Ocean Park, less than 10 minutes walk to several restaurants and grocery stores, and an easy bus to Old San Juan, where you can see El Morro (a UNESCO site), or take a car to see El Yunque, the only rain forest in the US National Park system. Arecibo Observatory and Camuy Caverns are west of our location, or drive east to Fajardo where you can then take a trip to Vieques for the bioluminescent bay. San Juan offers casinos, restaurants, shopping, and much more.

Coqui del Mar is the gay hotel choice in Puerto Rico. We are gay-owned and managed. Our guesthouse offers two pools, a jacuzzi, and weekly events such as Manicure Mondays and Facial Fridays. We offer a tropical continental breakfast #tropiconental daily, and Saturdays and Sundays we have a mimosa brunch included. We are nestled into a beachside neighborhood, 2 minutes walk to Ocean Park beach. We offer many extras without the extra price, for example, free parking, wifi, ROKU tv, beach bicycles, boogie boards, beach chairs, towels, coffee and tea, filtered water, full kitchens, barbecue area, kayaks, and more. Our rooms have air conditioning, a Flat-screen with ROKU, USB chargers, updated bathrooms, full-size refrigerators, and much more. Our goal is to make you feel like you are as comfortable as your home but on vacation. As we only have 12 apartments with 13 total rooms (this includes our two 2 bedroom apartments), your stay is much more intimate. We can accommodate groups of up to 39 (though the ideal capacity is between 22-30). Puerto Rico is the gay capital of the Caribbean and San Juan is the gay capital of Puerto Rico. We are 10 minutes from SJU airport in the gay-friendly beach community of Ocean Park (walkable to the gay cruising beach Las Uvas). There is not one gayborhood in San Juan, but several. And all are a short drive away.Our guests typically feel at home with us...A tropical escape where people can let their hair down. We are marijuana-friendly (Puerto Rico recognizes medicinal cards from other states) and we have designated outdoor areas to smoke. We are fully clothing optional on the ground floor, including two pools and a jacuzzi.A perfect choice for hosting wedding guests, friends and family reunions, bachelor or bachelorette parties, spring breaks, long stays where a kitchen is appreciated, or work trips. We are recognized as by Trip Advisor in their Green Leaf program and certified silver level. We believe that as you are guests at Coqui del Mar, we are all guests on this planet, and we do our best to minimize our impact, and ask our guests to do their part as well. We offer solar hot water (supplemented with instant hot water heaters), ceiling fans supplemented b cold ACs. Our appliances are Energy Star as much as possible. We offer recycling within each guest room. We recycle rain water for our organic garden, and offer bicycles for free to our guests.

Airport & Shuttle Information
SJU airport is located 5 KMs from us or less than $20 taxi. Taxis are available at SJU airport until the last plane lands every evening. Car rentals are available at the San Juan Airport and we offer free on street parking. The cruise ship docks in Old San Juan are also about 5 Kilometers from us and offer taxi service for similar fixed price. UBER also exists in Puerto Rico.
Local Shuttle Info: Taxi service exists at the airport or Cruise Ship Docks. UBER will not pick up from the airport, though they do offer drop off service. The cost for taxis is a fixed price and less than $20 to our location (per taxi, not per person).
Breakfast Information
Our daily breakfast Monday to Friday is simple with coconut oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, fresh-baked bread or cakes, and Puerto Rican coffee. On Saturday and Sunday, we provide a full mimosa brunch, serving, for example, french style crepes or omelets made to order.

Yes! Pets are allowed.
Pets are allowed with prior permission (must be bathroom trained and guests must clean up after, friendly demeanor, no excessive barking). We do have a recently rescued dog, Coquito, on site. He is in a private area but guests are welcome to visit with him. He is very friendly.
