I have been to Helsinki before. The design aspects of Helsinki are great and I enjoy revisiting the design areas when I visit. The newish public library Oodi is a wonderful place to just visit and watch the day go by, beautifully designed and very "human". The public transport is exceedingly good, making it very easy to get around at reasonable costs. There are plenty of food choices and there is an understanding of dietary needs. I came for some of the Helsinki Festival, and enjoyed some of the music and other arts events offered.
Helsinki hosts an average year of 100 international conventions attended by more than 25,000 delegates and 1,600 international meetings with nearly 100,000 delegates. Adding to that, there are innumerable national conferences, events and theme days annually. However, it's about more than dedication that keeps Helsinki ahead of the pack when it comes to arranging meetings, conferences and conventions of any size.
