We had a VIP guest for our wedding that had made reservations for two separate rooms for Saturday Night 10/7/17. My guest was given two confirmation numbers when she made the reservations over the phone. When my guests arrived to check in the hotel could only find one of the reservations. The hotel did not have any open rooms to offer this guest as they had booked the remaining unused rooms from my wedding block. The hotel ended up putting a bed/cots in the "party room" which was adjacent to the pool area with a large picture window that over looked the pool and the door joining the party room and pool that did not lock. The hotel then charged my guest a "room rate" because they made accommodations for them after loosing their reservation. The guest did not want bother me (the bride) and stress me out with this information the night of our wedding so they just dealt with the accommodations as they lived too far away to drive home that night. I am struggling with reasoning with the employees and owners of this property. Ultimately my guest should have never been charged for make shift accommodations when they made reservations well in advance and put trust in the hotel to honor those reservations and confirmation numbers. The hotel is not willing to help me make this right. I have called multiple times to try to get this resolved. I have now escalated it to the corporate level and am waiting for the employee on the case to get a resolution. My last correspondence was on 10/18/17 with the case worker who stated they were waiting for a response from the hotel owner and that the hotel has ten days to respond to the guest complaint. I'm not sure what recourse I have at this point but I'm very upset and frustrated with the situation.
