Property description
The Mama Shelter adventure began back in 2008, with Mama Paris East. Founded by the Trigano family (cofounder
of Club Med) and Philippe Starck, Mama Shelter never made any secret of its very high standards: it
would only open its doors in places that have their own captivating stories.
Cherishing the freedom to settle for nothing but the best, they sought out little-known locations where their
ideal of a friendly, affordable and unique hotel could find its fullest expression. Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux,
Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, Belgrade, Prague and Toulouse joined as showcases of this singular vision. Today,
Mama's expansion shows no sign of slowing with new hotels announced for Lille, London, Paris West and
Bahrain in 2019 - Luxembourg, Dubaï, Santiago de Chile, Roma, Lisbon and many more by 2022. Those cities
that, yet again, are able to make the dream of generous, exuberant and authentic hospitality come true. Cities
that are proud of their rich heritage and have their focus set firmly on the future, cities where the dream of a
peaceful life can become reality.
In the historic Saint-Blaise neighbourhood located in the heart of authentic Paris with its flowerlined café terraces, its gardens and its air of rebellion, Mama Shelter welcomes you.
Between the artists' studios, Père Lachaise, the “Campagne à Paris” & the winding cobblestone streets, you will feel the lingering spirit of Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrisson and other great artists. Mama settled down along the little-belt, symbolic railway of the Old-Paris, and just in front of “La Flèche d'Or”, mythic Parisian temple of the European pop rock scene.
Sensual and elegant, the 170 rooms entirely conceived by Philippe Starck are equipped with 49'' Smart TV proposing free VOD, photobooth and videobooth, internet, TV, computer… and a plush bedding.
The restaurant proposes simple and homemade cuisine and also dishes created by Guy Savoy to share between friends, family or colleagues around large tables. At the huge bar, the pizzeria or the terrace, you will surely cross paths with American poets, Japanese painters or Latin American authors. In summer, the rooftop allows to let your eyes wander over Paris' roofs sea at the slow rhythm of the hammock's swing or the sound of a table-tennis game.
During a giant table football game, an improvised Photobooth or Videobooth session, in front of live music on stage or simply around a meal or a cocktail, the Mama Shelter experience has to be lived. More than a place to eat and sleep, it's an experience made of meeting and sharing proposed to everyone. Offering shelter from the worries of the outside world, Mama Shelter aims to be comfortable, warm and comforting, as much as it is lively, joyful and heavenly.
