The Moorpark Hotel was a great find in San Jose. I was intrigued to see the property because they are constantly requested by my clients and have really phenomenal reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel did not disappoint. What struck me the most was that the hotel seemed like a very comfortable place to be. The interiors are warm and comforting - lots of dark wood, deep chairs, red leather, soft lighting, and so on. They also have an outdoor pool with cabanas, which is relaxing, as well as a hotel bar/lounge, removed from the lobby, that actually seemed like a cool place to hang out. It features legitimate hand-crafted cocktails, a good happy hour, impressive food, and a really friendly and knowledgeable staff. This lounge also opens for (what sounds like) a pretty solid breakfast buffet during the week. The rooms are a generous size and very airy with high ceilings, which gave them a relaxing feel. I can understand how this hotel would be very popular with anyone in the city for business, who want to feel they can unwind in their hotel after working hard all day. This seems to be exactly the person that the property was designed for. The hotel is a bit out of the way, in a convenient location near the freeway to get to and from, but without much going on right around it. For this reason alone, this might not be the best choice for people wanting to wander around San Jose in a tourist-like fashion. It is also worth mentioning that this hotel offers very reasonable rates, pretty on par with the chains around it that offer less, so I would consider it a good value. They have a few nice spaces for meetings and receptions but I think can only handle gatherings of around 40 people. However, I think the bar/lounge is available to rent if needed. In general, I would recommend this hotel to our groups, especially groups that are in San Jose to take care of some serious business, and would appreciate a hotel that makes them feel relaxed after the business is done.

This property represents great value for the price, particularly for the business traveler. Really great staff and comfortable rooms that are conducive to work. Nothing fancy but good choices for food breakfast and dinner. Location is also very good for taking meetings in the valley. I would highly recommend Aloft San Jose Cupertino.

The former Moorpark Hotel is now the Four Points by Sheraton Cupertino (as of November 20, 2014) and is a 79-room upscale boutique hotel that will have a full renovation complete by March 2015. This intimate and charming hotel features a billiards loft, outdoor heated pool with poolside cabanas, hot tub, fitness center, business center, meeting facilities, in-room mini-bar refrigerator, coffee maker, iPod docking station, and a VIP level with exclusive services and amenities. Bathrobes and slippers are provided upon request. Guest room types are King or double Queen accommodations. Wireless internet is provided on a complimentary basis in all guest rooms, meeting rooms and public areas. The hotel offers complimentary open and underground parking. The Moorpark Hotel's onsite restaurant, the Park Bar & Grill, opens to the hotel's sunny courtyard and serves daily breakfast The dinner menu features relaxed fare. The Moorpark Hotel offers two meeting rooms with a combined 1865 square feet of meeting space. Our largest meeting room, The Gentry Room, offers 1086 square feet of space, and The Esquire Room offers 779 square feet of space. The hotel provides all on-site catering for meetings and banquet events.
