The Argonaut is a bold, highly coveted property right on the main walk of Fisherman's Wharf. It has a perfect nautical Americana theme, somehow managing to be both imposing (it is located in a historic warehouse and makes use of the exposed brick and wooden beams) and relaxing (lots of bright, open spaces and calming blue tones). The sleeping rooms are spacious and very bright/airy, with lovely views. You definitely get the sense that you are in a hotel right on the water, which feels very much like vacation. If you are interested in Fisherman's Wharf, the location could not be more perfect and with the assistance of the cable cars, it is easy to visit other tourist attractions as well. The meeting spaces are very well styled as well, really playing up the dark blues and wooden beams, although they are not as bright/airy/beachy as the sleeping rooms are a bit heavier in demeanor. I loved this property as soon as I walked in and would recommend it to any group. They offer a complimentary nightly wine hour and are pet friendly (not just tolerant, but actually friendly). They also have a fun seafood restaurant attached to the hotel, not that you'll be short of dining options surrounding the property.

My wife and I found the hotel to be charming and so accessible either to the Fisherman's Wharf side or to head towards the Golden Gate Bridge and a quieter San Francisco experience. For a Warriors game we use public transportation for free and got there quite easily. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel staff was extremely helpful in getting us anywhere we wanted to go and offering us tips on how to get there.

The Argonaut Hotel opened in August 2003. Housed in the Historic Haslett Warehouse, the hotel is located at the corner of Jefferson and Hyde Streets in the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park at Fisherman's Wharf. Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants leased and rehabilitated the Park Service's 198,000 square-foot warehouse into a 252-room deluxe boutique hotel. Located on the waterfront and featuring spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz and Downtown San Francisco. The ground floor of the building includes the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park's Visitor Center. Many guestrooms are laid out like mini-suites, incorporating a small sitting area with a tailored sofa and a coffee table. Desks and bedside tables are made of whitewashed wood, giving a fresh beach-house feeling. The Argonaut Hotel offers 8,850 square feet of total meeting space including the largest ballroom on Fisherman's Wharf with 4,200 square feet and an additional 2,200 square feet of pre-function space. All four meeting rooms are located on the first floor.
