Throughout Cardiff, you'll find hotels with a variety of discounts available. These discounts allow you to save on your nightly rate. Savings vary by discount type, property, and time of year you travel. Some of the discounts you can see throughout the city include group rates, online booking discounts, and senior discounts.

Group rates vary significantly by property. Depending on the size of your group, when you stay, and if you're using other services such as wedding services, rates can be 3-30 percent off your nightly rate. 'We have so much time and so little to do. Strike that, reverse it.,
Roald Dahl, probably the most well-known children's story writer, was born in Cardiff. The words quoted above were written by Roald Dahl in a letter he wrote to one of his fans. They might sound too simplistic or lacking in imagination to many, but it must be remembered that behind those words, lies a lifetime of experience. Roald Dahl loved Cardiff like no other. The city makes repeated appearances in many of his stories, so much so that one might mistake the city itself for his muse. Cardiff, as things go, has been a loyal home to many such creative forces, politicians, academics, historians, sporting superstars and above all, millions of commoners who have silently, in obscurity, led honest lives of hard work and humility.

Cardiff is often called the Rainy City because of its perpetually rainy or gloomy weather. Spending time in such a city needs great levels of patience, perseverance and determination. That's probably why it is a city that best befits Welsh people who are inherently hardworking.

If you are planning on visiting Cardiff and surrounding Welsh cities as well as countryside, you could do much worse than getting to know what the hotels in Cardiff have to offer to you and what you should be expecting.

This write-up is intended to give interested readers just that sort of an idea.

Budget Hotels in Cardiff

Despite being an important city in the UK, Cardiff is relatively cheaper in terms of real estate. This fact is duly reflected in hotel prices that Cardiff hotels seem to charge their guests per night.

If you were to find some cheap hotels in a city like Cardiff, the best bet “ in most cases “ is to look for the ones that are located at a distance from the center of the city, or other popular tourist attraction.

Cheap hotels here, in Cardiff, are much cheaper in comparison with their counterparts in other cities like Glasgow or Manchester. However, it must be noted that such budget establishments are, in no way, obligated to provide you luxury amenities.

In short, don't go expecting for a free spa session at a 20 quid a night B&B!

Among the ones that are notable in this hotel segment are Holiday Inn Cardiff and Tanes Hotel. Both of these are located at an accessible distance from the city center and are great value for the money you will be asked to pay.

Ibis operates a budget hotel in Cardiff (Ibis Budget Cardiff Centre) that can also be an option you can explore, provided that you are fortunate enough to find availability of rooms.

Locating Luxury in Cardiff

Gareth Bale, the football prodigy who has now become the most expensive football signing in the history of the game, once remarked that Cardiff he knows lives in tidy and tiny houses with chimneys open for the Santa Claus.

Perhaps his innate opinion about his city might not apply to a hoard of luxury hotels in Cardiff that are nothing but epitomes of luxury, opulence and sheer display of pomp.

Admittedly, there are only a handful of such establishments in Cardiff that possess the kind of aura that can subdue the self-confidence of any man with limited resource, but the ones that are present do a remarkably good job of offering the best of hospitality money can buy.

Among these, Park Plaza Hotel at the City Centre needs to be specially lauded for its consistently high-class services extended to generations of tourists and travelers.

Novotel also makes a grand statement on the Cardiff stage through its flagship line Novotel Cardiff. Hilton, Marriott and Radisson-Blu are not the ones to be left behind, either.
