"Dirty room and joke of a breakfast."
Overall Score2.0/ 5
After a long day of playing at the beach my husband and I were ready to relax in a nice hotel room. I was told I was getting the last room upon check in and was just happy to get the key so we could go rest. I had reserved a room with one queen bed online and was given a room with two full beds The room was dirty. The bathroom had a used shampoo bottle in the window and the window was open the type that pushes out. I could not reach it to close it but thankfully my husband could. I went to sit in a chair and the chair had a large wad of grey hair in it. The TV stand had food crumbs that looked like they were picked up off the floor since they were squished together with clumps of blond hair. I use to clean hotel rooms for many years and I find it hard to believe so many things were accidental left. The only reason I will not give it one star is the bed was clean and comfortable. Without my husband I would not have stayed in the room alone as the security bar was ripped off on one half making it unable to engage. Breakfast was served from seven to nine in the morning. My husband and I got down there at 8:05 and the tiny room was packed and super warm. Limited seating was available but even worse was the huge line at the food. One waffle maker and everyone lined up blocking access to the food waiting for a waffle. My husband and I stayed for 45 minutes and in that time the line for the waffle maker barely moved. A second one was highly needed. Without a doubt the worst continental breakfast I have ever seen in a hotel. They had one yogurt left which I grabbed. The next cooler had hard boiled eggs. I got the last two. Four types of cereal were available but the milk was all used up except for a tiny trickle at the bottom. The bread case had one slice of bread, a half a muffin and one English muffin. By the time I could get people to step aside so I could get some bread the English muffin was the only thing left. I also grabbed the last two bananas that were beyond ripe. Another guest went and told the front desk food was out so a young man came and got the bowl the eggs were in. He returned with 8 eggs that were snatched up in an instant. He then brought out six yogurts which were also snatched up. Someone said to him more bread was needed and he took the tray out. About ten minutes later he returned with two muffins cut into fourths. They were gone in an instant and by this time he realized the eggs were gone so he took the bowl and brought out another six. With the muffins gone he took the tray and brought out two danishes cut into fourths and my husband managed to get two parts of that. Both parts were mostly frozen. With food clearly not coming out on a busy Sunday morning and the waffle maker not going to stop being used we just gave up and left hungry. All in all the worst motel I have ever stayed in. Then to add to insult said we could stay another night and the price would only be 93 when we had paid 145 for the night before.
