Local Attractions

Within the main attractions of our hill we can find, just steps from our hotel, La Sebastiana, home of the poet and Nobel prize Pablo Neruda. Opposite our hotel is the Plaza de los Poetas, where you can find life-size sculptures by Pablo Neruda with his back to the Pacific, Gabriela Mistral sitting on a bench facing the sea and the poet Vicente Huidobro. An unmissable place to take some photos or relax a few minutes in its green areas prior to a day of walking the streets of Valparaíso. Another important attraction is the Mauri Theater, now SCD concert hall. It is a building built at the end of the 40s used as a cinema and for different shows, thus forming an important part of the cultural tradition of the area. Finally, the most recent street art circuit called Wine & Art, along Baquedano Street, composed of 16 murals by different artists around the subject of wine, and finally by a mural by the internationally famous artist Inti, located at the beginning of our street Mena, a few meters from the hotel.

Property Description

Verso Hotel is a new hotelier and culinary approach in the city of Valparaiso. With a modern design that blends architecture and poetry, it's located in the heart of Poets Neighbourhood in the Cerro Florida, a few meters from La Sebastiana, the House Museum of Chilean Nobel Prize poet Pablo Neruda. The building, on two floors plus a terrace, combines construction elements such as concrete and metal, with a decoration based on works by local artists and hanging gardens. The rooms surround a central sky-open courtyard, where visitors can relax with a drink or reading one of the books of poetry that are offered in the Lobby area and Cafeteria. Each of the rooms is dedicated to a Latin American author, which is represented by selected poems in their heads walls, which make more pleasant the rest. The panoramic terrace on the top roof offers a spectacular 360 degree view of the bay and the hills of Valparaiso, and a Restaurant run by Chef César Sierra, whose gastronomic proposal based on native and seasonal products is at the forefront of the region.
