"DO NOT BOOK THROUGH EXPEDIA: Coffee pot, hair dryer, didn't work cigarette butts everywhere."
Overall Score1.0/ 5
Well, first I was in a frantic search for a pet friendly room in my area. I tried calling Baymont in Forest City,NC direct, but no answer. Immediately my Internet search took me to Expedia. Expedia told me checkout was at 3:00 PM and a pet fee was included in the $110.00 I paid. So I paid and took off to the motel. I get there: Lady at front desk window told me checkout was at 12:00 Noon. Well everyone makes mistakes I guess. Next she said I had to pay a deposit of $60 because I was LOCAL. She stated that some local people damage rooms and that was the reason. Ok., so I handed her a $100. She said I'm sorry, but I cannot change that. Thank goodness I had the change, or I would have had to go somewhere, make a purchase to get the correct change. Next: I get to the room. Room seems to be standard. Some built up dust at the base of the night stand lamp. Then I discovered the mold in the shower. Ok., some people don't use the exhaust fan so maybe I will make it the one night. Took my small 8lb. Yorkie to potty outside. Cigarette butts everywhere not just a few, but probably a five gallon bucket full if they were all collected. Bad business. So, I return to the room to watch the fuzzy TV until about 10:30pm. Next morning, first thing to the coffee pot (didn't work). So I decided to take a shower under the molded ceiling. I went to call front desk about the coffee pot and the phone didn't work. I didn't realize that the phone cord was plugged into the data side of the phone. No instructions to the fact, so I called front desk. Freshly showered, hair wet I went to use the dryer didn't work. They sent over a new coffee pot. That didn't work. Next maintenance was called in to discover that the power was out on all outlets near the bathroom; i.e., high dryer coffee pot location. At 8:00 I called front desk to ask for a token of their inability to provide an uninterrupted stay and they said we won't charge you the pet fee of $20. What pet fee? Expedia stated that was included for the one night. In conclusion, front desk manager offered me $10, but I have to got through Expedia to get that. Expedia charged me $110, which obviously didn't include the pet fee and the actual room cost would have been $69 had I booked directly with the motel. EXPEDIA BAD NEWS..
