"Worse Cesspool I've Ever Experienced."
Overall score1.0/ 5
I arrived at OYO at 5:45pm to find that the employee had locked up the lobby and directed me to a side door. I walked into a little room where the vending machines were. There was a small door leading into the lobby but that was locked as well. To get my attention, the employee knocked on the glass of a small security window that had a port like a bank teller would use. I was not allowed to enter the lobby and talk to him across the lobby desk like a person. I was instead expected to yell thru bullet proof glass (no speaker system). No greeting, instead the employee's 1st words were, "I need a $60 security deposit." After questioning him out of disbelief, I hand him my credit card only to be told that it has to be CASH. They have a sign next to the window that says they won't give a refund after 10 minutes after check in. apparently this has been an issue in the past. He then asks me for an ID. I hand him my military ID card. He looks at it and wants to know if I have a real form of ID that shows a state of issue. I informed him that what I gave him is a FEDERAL ID CARD! He begrudgingly accepts it. He then asks me for my address and phone number, even though he has all that info from my online reservation. I can hardly hear him thru the bullet proof glass with him being on the opposite end of the room where the computer terminal is. It would have been nice to talk to him across a desk like a customer instead of being treated like a convict yelling thru a sally port window. I then asked for a receipt for the CASH deposit since he neglected to give me one. I also asked if this was a high crime area and he said no. "Then what is the reason for this window?", I asked. The property looks like a construction zone with scrap wood, broken mirrors, old toilets and used sinks laying around. Most of the rooms are gutted and the room I got should have been. GROSS! One of the windows must have been knocked out and was replaced with a thin piece of opaque Plexiglas. It was like having plastic wrap covering the hole since you could hear EVERYTHING outside such as the traffic and people's conversations. The walls are paper thin and I got woke up at midnight by a couple moving in next door and then at 4am to the sound of their early morning passion. I had enough and left early. However, I had to wait for someone to inspect my room and report back to the desk so that I could get my CASH security deposit back. Summary: Avoid this crap hole!
