Verified Reviews of The Midtown Hotel

Below are the verified reviews from guests that we have booked recently:
Overall Score3.0/ 5
The hotel lobby could do with a bit of work. The plumbing in the hotel was atrocious as I just outlined in the review questionnaire I just completed for the first of my stays. The employees were helpful. The rooms were adequate the plumbing horrible. I felt ripped off when I couldn't book two additional nights and was charged so very much more when I was forced to phone long distance to book the second two nights a week later than the first two night booking. The hotel was a reasonable distance from the train station.

Overall Score3.0/ 5
The employees tried to be helpful and were pleasant. I was very disappointed that all though the hotel had Internet there was no guest computer available I felt that your listing was somewhat misleading. I initially booked over the Internet for the first two nights and at the same time I tried to book an additional two nights a week later and I was refused no matter how many times or hours I spent trying. I had to book over the phone (long distance) and was charged substantially more per night. The room was acceptable on both my visits, unfortunately I can not say the same for your plumbing. On my first two nights the toilet ran constantly and I had to lift the lid off the top of the tank and manually flush my waste. On my second stay (two nights a week later) I had a miserable time the plumbing in the walls would not stop making terrible noises. I was told there wasn't another room available. At 3:00 a.m. on my departure day I finally gave up trying to sleep and went to the lobby to complain and the lady on the desk sent an employee up to my room with me to see what the problem was. He returned to the front desk reporting that the he too heard the noise and it was problematic. Upon my departure after not having slept at all Management gave me a small discount. The amount hardly made up for not sleeping at all on my last night with your hotel and very little sleep the night before. At this time it is doubtful I would recommend or use your hotel again SORRY.

"We greatly appreciate your help. We had made arrangements with a hotel and then found out that it was located in a bad part of town. The trip is in three weeks and we felt doomed. I found your site and we had bids from three hotels within 1 hour. On such short notice and a larger group .. We are thrilled !! Thanks !!" T.G. - Missouri City, MO
