The Center has 13 separate areas for rental. Conference rooms can convert into theater seating, classroom seating, or banquet seating. Some rooms can be converted into conference room seating with either a rectangular table or a U-shaped table. Conference rooms feature natural light, Audio Visual aids with viewing screen, and internet access. Rental of a conference room can include a continental breakfast, use of supplies, luncheon buffets, gratuities and a meeting with a professional conference planner to help with your meeting.
The conference rooms are all named after important persons in Boston history. The meeting rooms on the second floor are the premier conference rooms. Featuring a large rotunda with staircase, the John Hancock Room is the largest room at the center. With 15 foot high ceilings, this room can hold 200 people in theater seating or 140 for a banquet. The John Washington Carver Room on the same floor is a available in classroom seating only for 69 people. The rotunda is also available for reception or banquet rental for 100 or 60 people respectfully.
The rooms on the third floor feature 10 foot high ceilings. The smallest is the Horace Mann room which holds 25 in theater seating or 16 for classroom seating. The slightly larger Clara Barton room is permanently set up for conference seating for 12. The largest room is the Robert E. Perry Room which holds 100 for banquet seating or 160 for theater seating. Some of the rooms on the third floor can be combined to allow for larger meetings. The third floor has an atrium and library that can also be rented out for functions.
The fifth floor features three smaller conference rooms with seven foot high ceilings. Of these rooms, one is permanently set up as a banquet room, the other two are used for multiple functions. This floor is set up for groups that want both a banquet room and a conference or classroom access at the same time.
The John Hancock Conference Center is located at 40 Trinity Place. Parking is limited but available in a garage across the street. The Center will validate parking and gives its customers a reduced rate. For overnight stays, the Hotel adjacent to the conference center features 68 rooms decorated in early 80s style. Because of the way the building was designed, WiFi may not access all rooms. Free WiFi is available in all common areas. The hotel often sells out so reservations are a must if you want to stay here. The hotel is located near public transportation and is within easy walking distance of many of Boston's best attractions.
