"A shelter in the storm."

We were caught on the road in an unfamiliar vehicle ( just purchased) when a thunderstorm overtook us. We didn't want to be on the highway in the storm that threatened to last into the evening. So I got online to Wyndham members site for a local motel with an available room at 5:30pm on a Friday. Not the best timing, but luckily the Baymont by Wyndham in Decatur, Tx where we were had one. I booked it and 30 minutes later we were in the lobby checking in. The very helpful desk clerk, whose last name was Davis, got us taken care of and into a very nice room….cudos to her! We stayed the night and resumed our journey home under cloudy but not stormy skies after a hot complimentary breakfast. The scrambled eggs were a bit underdone and runny, but the sausage patties, toast and coffee hit the spot. Thankful for a shelter from the stormy night.

Hotel Opening Summer 2025! Welcome to the Best Western Decatur Inn in Decatur, Texas! Our newly remodeled hotel features 64 air-conditioned rooms, each thoughtfully designed for your comfort. Rooms include a safe, microwave, refrigerator, high-speed internet access, private bathroom with stand-up showers and tubs, complemented by premium toiletries and hair dryers. Rooms also include workspaces with desks, chairs and phones offering free local calls. Try our new kitchenette rooms for a more at home feeling.Brand new furniture and carpets. Amenities include complimentary breakfast served 6 a.m. 9 a.m. Monday-Friday and 6 a.m. 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, free parking, indoor heated pool and hot tub open from 8 a.m. 10 p.m., a fitness center, guest laundry facilities and a convenient mini-store for snack plus vending. Rollaway bed fee is $10.00 USD per night. We also provide an express check-out. All rooms have interior hallways. We have elevators as well as staircases at each end of the building. For the comfort of all guests, we maintain a peaceful environment. Loud noises and pets (except service animals) are not permitted. We look forward to your stay!
