The Longview center point is about the area of Gregg County Historical Museum and the area of Downtown Longview.

Located in eastern Texas, Longview was founded in the 1870s. The founder sold 100 acres to the Pacific Railroad Company in hopes of attracting visitors to his town and increasing the value of his land. While this brought some residents, it wasn't until 1942 when the Big Inch pipeline construction began in Longview that workers started flocking to the area. From 1943 to 1945, the pipeline transferred over 250,000,000 containers of crude oil up to the East Coast.
