The Inside Scoop by our Local Expert
Originally named Anaheim Stadium, the home field of the Anaheim Angels MLB major league baseball team is today known as the Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Since the Angels moved from Los Angeles to Anaheim, California, in 1965, this stadium has served both the team and their fans—but it wasn't until 1996 that the stadium underwent the renovations it needed to make it a true baseball stadium with modern amenities.Approximately $100 million worth of renovations later, the Angel Stadium of Anaheim emerged as a state-of-the-art building that could seat 45,050 Anaheim Angel fans—up approximately 2,000 seats from its opening days in the 1960s. A few other unique touches were added in the process. The Angel Stadium of Anaheim now boasts a sports bar, an upscale restaurant with seating located behind home plate, an indoor restaurant above the stadium entrance, and the Pepsi Perfect Game Pavilion, which serves as a game area for children. Of course, the Angel Stadium of Anaheim is good for more than just the occasional ballgame. Fans and tourists alike can choose to embark upon a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium and its various facilities, including a peek into the dugout, press conference room, clubhouse, and press box.
