The Indian Wells Masters, which is now sponsored by BNP Paribas, was formerly known as the Pacific Life Open, between 2002 and 2008. The name of this annual tennis tournament has changed eight times, depending on which company was sponsoring it. Indian Wells is located in the Coachella Valley near Palm Springs and about 125 miles away from Los Angeles. The Indian Wells Tennis Garden hosts the tournament, which is played on hard courts.
