The Batesville center is about 18 miles west of 1913 The Heartland Barn and 23 miles west of Mercy Franciscan Medicenter.
Summers are pretty muggy in Batesville, so it's better to come from early May to June when the temperature just starts to warm up.
Another great period is from mid-August to early October. During these days make sure to stop by Liberty Park - the main public park of the town. It is a very well-kept public space with a number of quality amenities to enjoy: tennis and basketball courts, a baseball field, an ADA-equipped playground. Batesville Area Historical Society researched and collected an abundance of materials, artifacts, pictures, and more to organize a museum that will share the unique story of Batesville with residents and visitors. Good things are meant to be shared.
Brum Woods is a great place to see the nature of Batesville. 80 acres of beautiful woods were donated to the public by one of the life-long residents of the city - Lena Brum. Several miles of biking and hiking trails intertwine through the stunning forested landscape. It's a serene, magical place. You will meet some local fauna and a lot of local flora along the way, too!
Memorial Pool is a perfect choice for a hot summer day. Enjoy a 150? x 20? foot main swimming pool, or have fun on a waterslide that runs into the 13-foot deep diving pool. There's also a splash area with fountains for kids and, let's be honest, adults to run around.
Veteran's Park is a little open space with benches, shelters, and a playground. An interesting feature about this place is that visitors can request an engraved brick to be laid at the park to commemorate a veteran in their family, a certain number of bricks is reserved for local veterans or any other significant person in your life. Each brick is made for a donation of $50 to support the park and its facilities.

A great place for breakfast or lunch is the Big 4 Cafe! Both good food and service. The omelette and hash was extraordinary !
Funtown and it's close to Oldenburg which has the best fried chicken at Wagner's.
Proximity to Batesville High School.
We stayed here to be close to the golf course.
