When should you plan your trip to Makena, HI?
The island of Maui offers comfortable weather year-round, so there's no bad time to visit. The most popular season for tourists here is between December and March as vacationers flee harsher winters for highs in the low 80s and lows in the mid-60s. In April and May, tourist traffic dies down some, making this a great time to visit for lower hotel rates.
From June to August, highs rise into the upper 80s, and families flock to the island on school holidays. Summer is also a prime season for Maui festivals. In June, you'll find the Hawaiian Slack-Key Guitar Festival, Maui Film Festival, and Kapalua Wine & Food Festival. September to November is another affordable shoulder season when you'll have a good chance of finding hotel deals and fewer people, though the climate remains sunny and warm.
