Property Description

Imvubu lodge, meaning hippo in Zulu, was inspired by the famous "Huberta the Hippo" who undertook the historic journey from Zululand to East London. Tucked away in the lush greenbelt zone of Richards Bay, we are adjacent to the scenic Lake Menywa and the unspoilt beaches of the Indian Ocean. The lodge is conveniently located on a 20 hectare property with a wildlife sanctuary surrounding it, and is within close proximity to the Tuzi Gazi Waterfront, the International heritage site of Lake St Lucia and two world-class game reserves boasting the Big 5. Imvubu Lodge is also close to the CBD as well as the Richards Bay airport. We have a 3 star grading from the Tourism Grading counsel of South Africa and offer the following services. The accommodation we offer includes; luxurious one and two bedroom chalets both self-catering and non self-catering. The single self catering chalet can sleep 2 people and double chalets can accommodate up to 5 people. All our self-catering chalets are fully equipped with everything you need for a well-deserved break or just a good nights rest. Each chalet is secluded and is quipped with air-conditioning, DSTV, and all the self catering units have their own braai facilities. 24-Hour security allows you to relax and forget about the stresses of every day life whilst enjoying the tranquillity of nature. The conference centres are technologically advanced, with air-conditioning, and an entertainment deck overlooking Lake Menywa as well as a fully licensed bar. Management delegates in search of a quiet up market venue to host a conference, need look no further. Our Conference Centre is able to comfortably seat up to 150people. We cater for a variety of functions including conferences, product launches, presentations, team buildings and weddings. Our restaurant offers a stunning view, coupled with superb service and a romantic setting for Imvubu Lodge as the venue of choice. International Executive Chef, Francois Roux, prepares all the meals and other exotic dishes. We have a Business centre available in receptions, as well as wireless internet facilities which are available in our Restaurant, Sundowner Cocktail Bar, Conference Centre, and in all of our Rooms Our latest additions to the lodge are our two Luxurious Sea view suites furnished with top of the range equipment. As well as our Sundowner cocktail bar with a 180 degree elevated sea view.
