Our room accommodations were good, our host helpful. Our walk around the grounds were disappointing. Realize it's been a tough year, but the grounds were basically neglected, there were bathrooms under the deck outside the eating area, that were out of order, the doors were open and the rooms full of leaves. The hall there was covered in dirt dobber nests. I'm sure it's a lot to manage but it's getting away from you. I'm not trying to be ugly, just honest assessment, if you really want to impress your visitors. Cordially Randy Chapman.

Yes, there is a pool on-site at the property. A swimming pool fronting the lodge between the lake and the lodge is for the exclusive seasonal use of lodge and cottage guests. Open Memorial Day - Labor Day the pool is open each day from 9am-10pm local time. The public beach, open seasonally, offers a volleyball court, bathhouse, and hours of swimming fun in the waters of Lake Barkley. Pamper yourself year-round at the Lake Barkley Fitness Center. This indoor facility is equipped with nautilus machines, fitness cycles, Olympic free-weight room, leverage equipment, aerobic classes, glass racquet ball court, sauna, wet-steam room, whirlpool, heated indoor wellness pool and locker rooms.
Is Lake Barkley State Resort pet friendly?
Yes, pets are allowed. Kentucky State Parks are now pet friendly! We do charge an additional fee of $30 plus applicable tax per stay in our lodges and $50 plus applicable tax per stay in cottages. We know that your pet is very clean already but we do extra work on every pet friendly room after each guest checks out. Pets are allowed only in designated areas and are not permitted inside restaurant or other public areas (unless it's a service animal permitted under the provisions of KRS 258.500). Park Management reserves the right to prohibit any pet on the premises that may pose a risk to our guests or staff. No more than two pets are allowed per room/cottage. Pets may be brought into state park campgrounds as long as they are on a leash. Pets are not allowed on any park trails that share land with State Nature Preserves or are in protected archaeological areas.
