I've been a hotel general manager for the last 16 years. The one consistent comment. I would often hear, regardless of which hotel or which staff, was always how picky I am. For all of you fellow picky patrons, this is your number one choice. The price was the most reasonable in the city of Grinnell, which made me very leery for the quality that I might find. However, the quality absolutely met my picky standards. The lobby and hallways were a comforting indication of the rooms. My room was wonderful. Clean caulking in the bathroom, as well as every surface I inspected. The only reason I needed a room was to get a break from the construction zone going on in my home. This hotel served like a mental health day at the spa. Kudos to the Western Inn General Manager. You actually care and it shows.
