Water conservation: Hotel rooms are equipped with water saving showerheads and faucets. In-house laundry is outsourced eliminating water storage and water waste. Guests are given the option to have their bed linen changed once every 3 days rather than daily. Guests can have their towels changed less frequently by choosing to place them back on the towel rack Energy Conservation: All equipment is EnergyStar® compliant Programmable thermostats in all guest rooms All guest rooms, public space and corridors use energy efficient light bulbs All kitchen exhaust fans are retrofitted with time clocks saving 140 hours per month in energy usage. In-house laundry outsourced reducing the amount of gas and electricity required for operation of equipment, water temperature control and water storage. All rooftop air conditioning units were integrated with the hotel computer software to monitor temperatures in meeting rooms and public space. Guest room temperatures are programmed seasonally for optimum energy conservation when not in use. All storage closets fitted with shut-off sensors Highefficiency PTAC units installed in guest rooms Recycling and Conservation: Newspapers, paper, plastic, bottles and cans are sorted and recycled throughout the hotel. Use of plastic water bottles is reduced by conveniently located water stations throughout the hotel public space. Batteries and light bulbs are recycled. China and silverware is utilized rather than plastic during meetings and events. Dry erase boards are provided to replace paper flip charts. Eco-friendly Suppliers and Products: Environmentally friendly cleansing products are mandated throughout the hotel Styrofoam cups and plates have been replaced with paper products made from one of the most eco-friendly, sustainable and renewable resources. Eco-friendly fertilizer is now used in hotel landscaping. Food waste is composted for on-property fertilizer. Local Community Support Partners with the borough on the Biodiesel Fuel project turning waste vegetable oil from the hotel into biodiesel fuel used in running the town's DPW trucks. Hotel restaurant and outlets use locally grown product and produce from local farms in menu items.
