Best Time to Visit Sudbury, ON

Spring and autumn offer the perfect times of year to visit Ontario. Summers attract more tourists, which results in higher hotel prices, and the heat can get uncomfortable in July and August. The milder months bring more comfortable temperatures as well as reduced crowds at entertainment centers. You'll love the changing colors in fall, in particular, but spring delivers newly sprouted flora throughout the city.

If you're averse to rain, consider choosing fall over spring. You won't find yourself surprised by a sudden storm that ruins your outdoor plans. Additionally, you won't face the spring allergens that can make allergy sufferers miserable.

You might not want to visit Sudbury during winter unless you're interested in a ski vacation. The days are extremely cold and the nights colder, so you'll have to bundle up in bulky coats for every excursion. However, if you're looking for the most affordable time to visit Ontario, winter delivers. Just make sure to pack boots, coats, scarves, and gloves to protect yourself from the frigid wind.

Best Hotel Discount Options in Sudbury, ON

Several hotels in Sudbury offer excellent discounts for AAA members and senior citizens, though they don't always advertise this fact online. They might also offer seasonal discounts to encourage travelers to visit during the off-peak months, and you can score a great deal if you book your room or suite several weeks or months in advance.

Best Value Hotel Options in Sudbury, ON

When you want great amenities at affordable prices, consider booking your room at the Clarion Hotel Sudbury. It gets excellent reviews from guests because of its excellent location near the Sudbury Theatre Centre, its friendly staff, and its comfortable guest rooms. You get a free daily newspaper so you can keep up with the latest headlines, and free wireless internet access exists throughout the hotel. Plus, the staff is trained in CPR, so you can count on them in an emergency.

In your room, you'll find a coffeemaker, refrigerator, and microwave. Kick back and watch a movie on the 32-inch flat-screen television or get your fancy clothes ready for a night on the town with the provided iron and ironing board. There's an on-site sauna, an indoor heated pool, an exercise facility, and an on-site restaurant. Plus, if you feel like sleeping in on your last morning in Sudbury, you can opt for a late check-out for a nominal fee. You can order room service from the restaurant, bring your pet so you don't have to pay boarding fees, and upgrade to the VIP floor for even more amenities and luxurious perks.

Best Science Attractions in Sudbury, ON

Sudbury is home to the Science Education Centre, which includes themed exhibition areas like Science North and Dynamic Earth. You can explore all facets of science at this facility through interactive and static exhibits as well as IMAX presentations and guided tours and talks. Plus, the attractions change from month to month, so if you've visited before, you can always return for a completely new experience. At Dynamic Earth, you can even take your picture next to the world's largest nickel.

You might also want to visit Laurentian University, which features a gorgeous planetarium and guided tours. Astronomy lovers will enjoy experimenting with the various telescopes and learning about the latest discoveries from experts in the field. Alternatively, check out the Northern Ontario Railroad and Heritage Centre. It has several exhibits related to steam-powered locomotives, and you'll learn all about how early scientists made this feat possible.

You'll love spending time in Sudbury, which offers plenty of modern conveniences within a small-town atmosphere. Choose one of the hotels recommended above and start planning your itinerary today.

'Don't tell me what you believe in. I'll observe how you behave and I will make my own determination. Alex Trebek is someone who likes to experience things for himself and make judgments for himself; that is really how many of us are.
