The Conway center point is approximately 3 miles northwest of Coastal Carolina University and 7 miles northwest of Legends Resorts.
Due to its close proximity to Myrtle Beach, Conway experiences its peak tourist season from June to August when beachgoers flock to the area. Despite frequent afternoon rain showers, the weather is ideal during the summer, providing the perfect backdrop for events such as the Carolina Country Music Fest and the Craftsmen's Classic Arts and Crafts Festival. While the shoreline can get crowded in Myrtle Beach, Conway provides a more peaceful summer refuge for those who don't mind booking a room farther inland.
As the crowds thin out in September, hotel rates start to drop, offering travelers the chance to score some incredible deals. The Myrtle Beach area continues to thrive throughout the shoulder season. It hosts the Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival, Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art, and the Oktoberfest German Festival. You'll also have easier access to area attractions and still enjoy pleasant temperatures through the end of October.
Although winter in Conway and the Myrtle Beach metro area is mild, many restaurants and businesses that cater to the summer tourist crowds tend to close up shop. Still, you can land some of the best hotel deals of the year from November through February, as well as enjoy shopping discounts throughout the region. Although it is too cold to hit the beach, you'll have plenty to do with events such as the Dickens Christmas Show & Festivals, the South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival, and Restaurant Week South Carolina occurring through the season.
Room rates along the coast start to climb by late spring, but Conway boasts steady prices from March through May before the peak tourist season. Booking a room in Conway even allows you to avoid the spring break crowds. Key events during this season include the St. Patrick's Day Festival and Parade and Rivertown Jazz Festival. Therefore, be sure to book your hotel in advance during popular festivals as rooms tend to fill up fast.
If you plan your trip to Conway in advance, you can save even more money during your stay by taking advantage of discounts. For instance, almost every area hotel, including the already-affordable Econo Lodge, extends special rates to military personnel, government employees, corporate travelers, seniors, AARP members, and AAA or CAA members. All you have to do is present your ID or proof of eligibility at check-in to save up to 20 percent off the hotel's best available rates.
It also pays to research your favorite hotel's special offers. The Hilton Garden Inn Myrtle Beach/Coastal Grand Mall, for example, offers family fun, romance, and food and beverage packages that throw in extra perks. Depending on the special offer, you may enjoy a restaurant credit, free breakfast for the whole family, premium Wi-Fi access, a late checkout, or sparkling wine. These package deals vary by property and tend to change seasonally. Keep an eye out and compare your options, so you can put together a package that suits your travel style.
The Conway area also offers many midrange properties that give you plenty of value for the money.

You also don't want to miss Theatre of the Republic, the town's live performance venue.

Conway has one thing that nowhere else in the world can claim: Luvans Old South Fish Camp. If fresh, well prepared seafood is something you love, you should treat yourself to a visit. It's in an old log cabin with hand-painted cardboard signs, but they serve the BEST seafood ever. Your palate will thank you!
Conway is a quaint, beautiful town. The downtown area and river walk are very nice. The traffic to Myrtle Beach was, at times, very intense.
