The Saint Thomas center is about 1 mile east of Downtown St. Thomas and 13 miles south of London Amtrak Station.
Depending on why you're going, there are a few good times to visit Saint Thomas. If you're interested in exploring the beaches and nature trails that the town and surrounding areas have to offer, the best weather is July-September, thanks to many cloudless, warm days. Saint Thomas rarely gets over 90 degrees, which makes it a great place for hikes and recreational activities. The rates are higher in the summer because of the variety of activities and events available, but there are still plenty of hotels that offer reasonable pricing.
However, the city also has a robust winter event schedule, with activities such as a massive Santa parade and a month-long winter celebration called Light in the Night. The best time for these winter events is November through February, and because it's a less-popular time of year for tourists, more affordable rooms may be available. If you enjoy cold-weather sports and activities or simply want to experience the scenic beauty of a small-town Christmas, consider visiting in November and December to see the town truly light up.

The Nostalgia Nights is a fun event in July that closes down the main street to feature train rides, live music, vintage cars, art, and more. And with the close proximity to the shores of Lake Erie, visiting in summer means you can enjoy the water during the day and take advantage of the events the town sets up in the evening.
